Urban Baby Gourmet's passion is to provide
Colorado babies with locally-harvested, ultra-fresh homemade meals. Our
nutritious blends of organic fruits, veggies, proteins and grains
feature an array of herbs and spices to rouse the inner foodie in your
baby.
About Us
It all started with some simple homemade baby
food making parties with some other moms from our playgroup: apples,
sweet potatoes and peas pureed in the blender in take-home ice cube
trays.
For most of the moms, this would be their only foray into homemade baby
food making. As their kids got older, the days of steaming and freezing
purees would soon be gone. One mommy, however, realized she was onto
something bigger. With a knack for experimenting with spices, textures
and flavors, she started coming up with some truly decadent and
original blends that her (then) 8-month-old daughter Anaka and her baby
friends Henry and Finn couldn't get enough of. And thus, the idea of
Urban Baby Gourmet was born.
Recently formed by moms in Northwest Denver, Urban Baby Gourmet
is locally-harvested organic homemade baby food company that makes a
variety of baby-tested veggies, fruits, proteins and grains for babies
and toddlers 6 months and older. With an "Eat Local, Buy Local, Be
Local" model of purchasing seasonal ingredients from local organic
Colorado farms and farmers markets, Urban Baby Gourmet focuses on
getting ultra-fresh food and delivering it to local parents and their
babies with minimal environmental impact.
Beginning solids can be daunting. As three moms who have been down that road, we
hope our experiences can help parents better nourish their babies while also supporting organic local
farms and businesses.
